4 Tips for Stretching Your Stash

Updated: Jul 10, 2023

Maybe you are going through your cannabis quicker than you anticipated or are running low on cash. No matter the reason, we have several tips for how to stretch your stash while still getting the relief you need to treat your medical condition!

1. Grow Your Own

Never run out of cannabis again! Missouri Marijuana Card patients are permitted to grow up to six cannabis plants. Not only will you know exactly when to anticipate harvesting your bud, but you can also take advantage of the many benefits associated with home-grown cannabis.

2. Use A Grinder

If you are new to using medical cannabis, having a grinder is essential to making your stash last longer. Grinding up your cannabis can stretch your stash since you won’t lose any of the important trichomes that often stick to your fingers.

3. Switch Up Strains

Consider growing a different strain during your next grow. Some strains are clearly more potent than others, which means you could find yourself stretching your stash even further since you can consume a smaller amount and achieve the same results as using more of a less potent strain.

4. Follow Recommended Dosing Instructions

No matter how you intend to consume cannabis, each method has different dosing instructions. The general rule of thumb for new patients is to ‘start low and go slow.’ Many physicians recommend this method because it is much easier to increase your dose, than if you consume too much when first medicating.

If you are using a concentrate or vape, start off with a single hit (for flower one or two hits. If after 15-20 minutes you have not reached your desired effects, move onto a second dose. Most edibles tend to take around 45 minutes to reach the full effect. We recommend waiting around 45 minutes to an hour before consuming more edibles.

By following proper dosing instructions, you may surprise yourself on how much cannabis you really need to feel the desired effects and end up stretching your stash further than you once anticipated!

Unfortunately, cannabis never lasts as long as you want it to. We hope that the tips listed above can help save you money, while still providing the relief you need to treat your medical condition!
