When you want to get a job in cannabis in Missouri, you usually need to have (at minimum) a state compliance training. Many employers provide this training free of charge, but agencies generally require that you have training and a background check completed before you are placed in a position.


State Compliance Certification - Cannabis Community College

Cannabis Community College is one of the most convenient options for getting the compliance certification you need in order to get on the right path for your new career in cannabis. For $279, you can get a Missouri cannabis compliance certification in cultivation, production, and dispensary. However, you can also purchase an individual compliance certificate course in any of the three areas for $99.


According to the Cannabis Community College website, courses take about two hours to complete, but you can finish them on your own time, taking as long as you need.


Cannabis Science and Operations Certificate - St. Louis University

The Cannabis Science and Operations certificate at St. Louis University is a 16-credit program, and it is meant to prepare students for careers in cannabis sales and marketing, dispensary management, quality assurance and laboratory technology, and more.


You must be 22 years old or older (with some exceptions), and have a high school diploma or GED. This is a university program, so there are grants and scholarships available. The following courses are required in order to to complete the program:

  • Cannabis Fundamentals: Growing, Manufacturing & Dispensing

  • Cannabis Plant Science & Cultivation

  • Cannabis Extraction & Product Production

  • Cannabis Compliance & Dispensing

  • Pharmacological Properties of Cannabis

Cannabis Studies - Northwest Missouri State University

Northwest Missouri State University has recently launched its Cannabis Studies department. Every program offered is currently a 6-month certificate program at a cost of $2,950. The university has exclusive partnerships for job placement, and completing a certification will prepare you for a career in one of the following areas:
