How To Keep Your Bong Clean

How To Keep Your Bong Clean

For qualified patients in Missouri, marijuana is legal for medical use. One of the many ways to consume cannabis is with a bong. Water bongs are one of the healthiest ways to smoke cannabis. Their water cools smoke, making it less harsh on your lungs, all while absorbing harmful combustion byproducts.

But there’s one thing that no one loves about bongs, and that’s the smell of dirty bong water. Not to mention the unsightly appearance as tar-like resin builds up along the stem.

Fortunately, you do not need to put up with an unfortunate smell and sticky sensation. So long as you follow the right steps and maintain your bong’s cleanliness, you can enjoy fresh-smelling hits time and again.

The trick to keeping your bong shiny is quite simple: clean it regularly, and clean it well. It’s much like maintaining a clean stovetop. So long as you scrub it often, it’s not so tough to do. But if you leave it for weeks or months, you’re going to have a project on your hands.

How to Properly Maintain Your Bong

1. Daily: Change the Bong Water

The first step to keeping your bong fresh and clean is regularly changing its water. We recommend doing this daily for heavy users and after every time you smoke for the casual user. This simple step is critical to avoid an unfortunate odor.

2. Weekly: Thoroughly Clean Your Bong

Most smokers can get by with a weekly bong cleaning. Even heavy smokers will have minimal resin buildup at this time, making the cleaning process easy.

While you can find all sorts of chemical concoctions to keep a bong clean, we strongly recommend avoiding these and opting for a natural alternative. You don’t want to be inhaling questionable chemicals when you smoke.

To clean a bong, you will need:

  1. Coarse salt

  2. Isopropyl alcohol

  3. Ziploc Bags

Step 1: Remove any bong water and spent herb.

Step 2: Separate the stem and bowl from the bong and place them in separate Ziploc baggies or other sealable plastic bags. Add 1 tablespoon coarse salt and enough rubbing alcohol to fully submerge the delicate pieces. Gently shake the bag and allow it to soak for a few minutes. Next, rinse them with warm water.

Step 3: Use a cotton swab to remove any remaining gunk from the stem or bowl. Rinse once more with warm water.

Step 4: Cover the bottom of your bong with coarse salt and then add about 1-2 inches of isopropyl alcohol (more for taller bongs). Plug the holes with either your hands or rubber stoppers. Shake the bong rigorously to dislodge resin buildup, being careful to keep a good grip. Once the bong looks clean, empty the bong and rinse it very well with warm water.

So long as you keep up with your bong maintenance, you will keep your smoking experience free from unwanted odors. This cleanliness allows you to fully enjoy the unique aroma of your favorite strains.

How do you clean vape pen?

It is pretty simple! Disassemble the pen and remove the holding tank. Be sure to soak the separate pieces in warm water for a few minutes. This allows the residue to soften and wipe away more easily. Get a Q-tips and start wiping away the resin off and let the pieces air dry.

Once dry put the vape back together, replace the coils and enjoy your next vape! If you’re in doubt, consult your user’s manual or product website for quick cleaning tips.
