Columbia, Missouri residents with a medical marijuana card have a new option for cannabis relief. Liberty Cannabis opens the doors to its Columbia location on Friday, September 10th. Liberty Cannabis is a national chain of dispensaries that are bringing several locations to the state, including stores opening soon in Kansas City, St. Louis, and Rolla.

Liberty Cannabis is owned by Holistic Industries - the nation’s largest private, multi-state dispensary operator. They are investing heavily in Missouri, with four Liberty Cannabis dispensary locations planned to open throughout the state before the end of the year as well as a grow/processing facility.

Just like Starbucks and your local grocery store, Liberty Cannabis has a rewards program that gives regular customers perks based on how much they spend.
What does this mean for Columbia?
It means access to a wider variety of cannabis-based relief for those with a valid Missouri medical card. It also means more jobs in the area. The facility expects to employ 20 individuals in a combination of full and part time positions, with the possibility to expand if there is demand in the area.
Liberty’s parent company also has what they call a “corporate social responsibility” arm known as Liberty Cannabis Cares, whose mission includes a focus on social equity, diversity, cannabis literacy, and community outreach. Though the company is new to Columbia, they are already a proud sponsor of the city’s upcoming Harvest Hootenanny celebration on September 18th and is doing their part to beautify local trails with its participation in the Adopt-A-Trail partnership.
