With renewal dates soon coming up, many Missouri medical marijuana patients had questions regarding the process due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
Some of the most common questions included how the renewal process will be executed and if there were any additional requirements besides the $25 renewal fee to the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services.
The DHSS clarified that they will not be providing extensions for medical marijuana card expirations. They will be sending patients renewal reminders 60, 45, 30, and 15 days before the expiration date to their email addresses. The time frame to submit a patient renewal is 60 days prior to the expiration date, and no less than 30 days before expiration. The Missouri DHSS has 30 days from the submission of the renewal to process the application.
As for the renewal process, all patients are required to meet with a certified Missouri medical marijuana doctor for an evaluation to obtain a new certification. Fortunately, Missouri allows the use of telemedicine so patients can be reapproved for medical marijuana in the comfort and safety of their own homes, especially during COVID-19. Once a patient receives their new certification, they will need to submit the certification to the Missouri DHSS, provide a copy of a valid Missouri I.D., and pay the $25 application fee.

Everyone should email the MO DHHS to voice your concerns. They should extend our cards for another year without renewal fees and certifications. We were ROBBED! I haven’t been able to use my card at all!! Let your voice be heard to the people that can do something!
I, like others, feel cheated. I'm also somewhat frustrated. I still don't have a dispensary in my area. None. Thereby making unnecessary the expense of a permit before any product is available, or locations from which cannabis products can be purchased. In all fairness to the patients, who suffer daily waiting for relief, permits should renew automatically, without cost, until such time as they become useful. It's just not right to make someone pay for something useless.

After spending 260.00 last October. 25 bucks to the state, got nothing in return. I'll wait until the dispensary is opened for buisness. I charged the cost last year. Just got it paid off. Still in pain every day. I can drive to Illinois and back on a gallon of gas. Way cheaper. Missouri is way behind the times. When I'm in Illinois there's more Missouri license plates on the cars on the parking lot at the dispensary.
You should do the right thing and prorate renewal for number of months cards couldn't be used.
